workshops on co-crafting home through songs and stories
a three-part workshop series where small groups gathered around songs and stories that evoke different relationships to home.
each session revolved around a different thematic anchor through which we explored the narratives, memories and associations that the practice of music-sharing carries.
we ask each participant to think of a song to share that resonates with the theme; what song evokes 'longing for home' for you? how is this way of relating to home conveyed through music?
during the workshop, we share these songs through a guided drawing, listening and dialogue activity. what can we learn from each other by sharing and listening in this way? we digest these questions and our shared experiences during a nourishing meal that ends each session (from 6pm).
the drawings made during the workshop will feed a co-created sculptural installation that assembles itself across the month, landing as a centrepiece at pos' june 6/7 anniversary weekend.
